The Report of the Symposium on Prevention of Marine Pollution from Ships (held in Acapulco, Mexico, in March 1976 and published by the Inter-Governmental Maritime Consultative Organization, now the International Maritime Organization) does not feature a formal, modern single-paragraph academic abstract or explicit keyword list, as it is a conference proceedings and summary report rather than a modern peer-reviewed journal article.This publication summarizes the proceedings, expert papers, and technical discussions from the 1976 Acapulco symposium organized to evaluate the implications of the landmark International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL 1973).
