Titre : Adaptive Radar Signal Processing Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Simon Haykin, Auteur Editeur : Hoboken,New jersey : John Wiley & Sons, Inc Année de publication : 2007 Importance : 230 p. Présentation : couv. ill.,ill. Format : 24,1 cm. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-471-73582-3 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : TELECOMMUNICATION Index. décimale : 28-04 Traitement du signal appliqué aux télécommunications Résumé : This collaborative work presents the results of over twenty years of pioneering research by Professor Simon Haykin and his colleagues, dealing with the use of adaptive radar signal processing to account for the nonstationary nature of the environment. These results, described by the researchers themselves, have profound implications for defense-related signal processing and remote sensing.
The book is divided into two parts:
* Part I discusses radar spectral analysis, with emphasis on spectrum estimation of the received signal. Following an introductory chapter, Chapter 2 addresses the low-angle tracking radar problem. Focusing on the target's angle of arrival in the presence of multipath, the authors set forth a spectrum estimation procedure known as the multi-taper, or multiple-window, method. This method accounts for the specular as well as diffuse kinds of multipath, which are integral parts of a physical low-angle tracking radar environment. Chapter 3 builds on the multi-taper method by estimating the power spectrum of the received signal as a function of both time and frequency with emphasis on sea clutter.
* Part II examines dynamic models of radar returns produced in a marine environment. Chapters 4 and 5 study different approaches to modeling the underlying dynamics responsible for the generation of sea clutter. Chapter 6 completes the discussion by formulating a Bayesian framework for the detection-through-tracking of a target in the presence of sea clutter.
References are provided in each chapter guiding the reader to the original research on which this book is based. This is a must-read for all engineers involved with radar systems-even senior-level engineers will find much new and thought-provoking material.Note de contenu : Table of contents

Titre : Advanced Biomedical Image Analysis Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Mark A. Haidekker, Auteur Editeur : Hoboken,New jersey : John Wiley & Sons, Inc Année de publication : 2011 Importance : 512 p. Présentation : couv. ill. en coul., ill. Format : 24,2 cm. Accompagnement : CD-ROM ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-470-62458-6 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : GÉNIE BIOMÉDICAL Index. décimale : 35-03 Traitement d'images médicales Résumé : A comprehensive reference of cutting-edge advanced techniques for quantitative image processing and analysis
Medical diagnostics and intervention, and biomedical research rely progressively on imaging techniques, namely, the ability to capture, store, analyze, and display images at the organ, tissue, cellular, and molecular level. These tasks are supported by increasingly powerful computer methods to process and analyze images. This text serves as an authoritative resource and self-study guide explaining sophisticated techniques of quantitative image analysis, with a focus on biomedical applications. It offers both theory and practical examples for immediate application of the topics as well as for in-depth study.
Advanced Biomedical Image Analysis presents methods in the four major areas of image processing: image enhancement and restoration, image segmentation, image quantification and classification, and image visualization. In each instance, the theory, mathematical foundation, and basic description of an image processing operator is provided, as well as a discussion of performance features, advantages, and limitations. Key algorithms are provided in pseudo-code to help with implementation, and biomedical examples are included in each chapter.
Image registration, storage, transport, and compression are also covered, and there is a review of image analysis and visualization software. The accompanying live DVD contains a selection of image analysis software, and it provides most of the algorithms from the book so readers can immediately put their new knowledge to use.
Members of the academic community involved in image-related research as well as members of the professional R&D sector will rely on this volume.
It is also well suited as a textbook for graduate-level image processing classes in the computer science and engineering fields.Note de contenu : Contents
