| Résumé : |
water is the most commonly solvent but this can be problematic in some asoect of chemistry the use of nonaqueous solvents allows substances which may otherwise be unstable or insoluble in water to be reacted successfully .this seconde edition of a classic monograph has been updated and contains new material on environmentally friendly solvents such as room temperature ionic liquids |

| Résumé : |
An engineer's companion to using numerical methods for the solution of complex mathematical problems. It explains the theory behind current numerical methods and shows in a step-by-step fashion how to use them, focusing on interpolation and regression models.
The methods and examples are taken from a wide range of scientific and engineering fields, including chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, medicine, and environmental science.
The material is based on several courses for scientists and engineers taught by the authors, and all the exercises and problems are classroom-tested. The required software is provided by way of a freely accessible program library at the University of Milan that provides up-to-date software tools for all the methods described in the book. |

| Note générale : |
An excellent and unique generalized introduction to the fundamental principles of future solar energy systems, based on good and consistent physics. In describing the various conversions, the author makes use of endoreversible thermodynamics - a subset of irreversible thermodynamics. In this way, readers are supplied with the information to enable them to calculate the explicit values for a broad class of processes. Throughout, general principles are illustrated using idealized models, and end-of-chapter technological examples are merely presented so as to compare reality with theory. As such, no more than an undergraduate level of physics knowledge is assumed, together with a familiarity with SI units, and no differential equations are used. |
