Les auteurs entraînent même leurs lecteurs électroniciens du côté des détecteurs de particules, de la bio-chimie et de l'astronomie. C'est donc un ouvrage à la fois exhaustif et facile d'accès grâce à sa conception hautement didactique. L'attention du lecteur est sans cesse relancée par des astuces récoltées dans la pratique de la conception et de l'enseignement. Chaque explication est assortie d'exercices pour stimuler l'assimilation active des connaissances. Les préalables théoriques requis sont succincts. L'approche intuitive (à l'américaine !) fait merveille dans cet ouvrage, idéal pour l'auto-formation mais aussi pour le soutien d'une formation scolaire et universitaire. La traduction française respecte avec bonheur le style vivant et la manière agréable du texte original.
